Delete Your Account

You can request deletion of your Milk and Moon account at any time. This page explains how to do it and what happens to your data.

Delete from inside the app

The fastest way to delete your account is from within the Milk and Moon app:

  1. Open the Milk and Moon app and sign in.
  2. Tap Settings from the bottom navigation.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of Settings and tap Delete Account.
  4. Read the warning, optionally tell us why you're leaving, and tap Delete Account.
  5. On the confirmation screen, type the 6-digit code we display and tap Permanently Delete Account. This last step exists to prevent accidental deletion — once you confirm, your data cannot be recovered.

Request deletion by email

If you can't access the app or prefer to email us, send a deletion request through our contact page with the subject “Delete my account.” Please send the request from the email address associated with your account so we can verify your identity. We'll confirm the deletion within 7 business days.

What gets deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently remove the following from our systems:

  • Your profile (name, email, demographic information, preferences)
  • Your baby's profile (birthday, feeding goal, growth and other tracking data)
  • All logs you've recorded — feeds, bottles, diapers, pumping, pain, mood, and growth entries
  • Your saved articles, ratings, and reading history
  • Your caregiver invitations and connected caregiver relationships
  • Your subscription and billing identifiers held by Milk and Moon

What we may retain

We may retain a limited amount of information when required for legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, or audit purposes. Specifically:

  • Purchase records. Order, invoice, and tax information may be retained for up to seven years to meet financial-record requirements.
  • Anonymized usage data. Aggregate patterns such as feeding rhythms and growth trends may be retained to improve the app. This data is fully de-identified and cannot be linked back to you.
  • Communications. Email correspondence sent to or from our support team may be retained as part of our customer-service records.

Third-party services

Some data is held by trusted third-party processors — Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), and Supabase (application database). When you delete your account, we instruct these processors to remove your personal data in line with their own retention policies. Stripe retains transaction records as required by financial regulation.

Email subscriptions

Deleting your account also removes you from our marketing email list. If you only want to unsubscribe from emails — without deleting your account — use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send.

Timeline

Most deletions complete within 7 days of your request. In rare cases, backups may take up to 30 days to fully cycle out. After deletion, your data cannot be recovered.
